Halloween Legends and Lore 2014

Collaboration With Old World Wisconsin
Directed by Bob Parker and Brian Rott
TRAILER!
Quasimondo and Old World Wisconsin, team up to celebrate the legends immigrants brought with them and the folklore they created.  This interactive event features Wisconsin ghost stories from the 19th and early 20th centuries, mingled with folk and fairy tales of the Old World, combining spooky daytime activities with macabre and magical nighttime stories in an unforgettable cornucopia of music, dance, and fun!

Stumble upon a coven of witches. Shutter at the sounds of the banshee's sonorous song. Meet the rascal Jack O'Kent and watch how he tricks the devil to save his soul but not his head. With prestidigitation scarecrows come alive in a piece inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Feathertop". Cower with the beautiful Vasilisa, captive of the dreaded witch Baba Yaga and her 10ft chicken hut!

New to this Halloween we're pleased to present original, site-specific creations inspired by "The Bogeyman", Edgar Allan Poe's "Masque of the Red Death", the origins of wolf men in "The Beast of "Gévaudan", and a terrifying finale featuring the tale of Beowulf and Grendel.

Walworth County Today

“So much artistry and magic–an enthralling and intellectual alternative to the blood-and-guts, jump-and-scare, run-of-the-mill haunted houses.”
