ESCAPE From the FUTURECreated by Michael Pettit
In the year 2492, the energy of a rare planetary alignment is harnessed to open a time travel gateway. Characters from multiple future realities make their way to the portal, each determined to discover the key to their own ideal future somewhere in present-day Riverwest. Their quests warp the rules of reality, timelines are fractured, and their efforts to change history have unimaginable consequences.
This production, created by Puppetry Artist and Quasimondo Ensemble Member, Michael Pettit, has been inspired by conversations with residents and social media forums discussing the importance of community in times of uncertainty. The 20-minute performance will introduce themes, characters, and stories; and build a vibrant world that will continue to develop and flourish in future productions. This inaugural showing at Locust Street Fest will feature a motley crew of retro-futuristic cyberpunks, an organic oracle and her pet chicken, a giant walking tree, a sinister corporate entrepreneur, and a humanoid mutant with a giant roast beef sandwich for a head. The performance will include live musical accompaniment, comic book action, puppetry, and more. Suitable for all ages. Featuring Sarah Ann Mellstrom, Jessi Miller, Bill Olsen, Andrew Parchman, Michael Pettit, and Alex Roy. SHOWS:
